Dear Bible Quiz Friends,
Welcome to Denver and the 25th Annual Colorado Invitational Bible Quiz Tournament. Although there was much wonder as to whether this tournament could take place with the events of this past year, we are delighted that you are able to join us for this tournament. We anticipate a great weekend of intense competition and loving fellowship that is centered on the precious Word of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
I cannot believe that this tournament is celebrating its 25th Anniversary! I remember the first competition and I cannot believe that twenty-five years have passed so quickly. Honestly, when I look back on the twenty-five years of the C.I. tournament, it reminds me of the truth of James 4:14-15 – Our lives go quickly, and we must focus on doing God’s best with every moment of our lives. For twenty-five years, this competition has provided the great opportunity for healthy Christian fellowship with other teens, coaches, parents, and supporters who love God and His Word. We are so thankful that God has allowed this tournament to be a blessing over the past twenty-five years, and we believe that this tournament will be both an encouragement and blessed memory for all of the teams and individuals that are in attendance.
The theme for CI 2021 is “The Praise of God.” This theme is taken from John 12:42-43 which says, “Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” This verse demonstrates to us the sad reality and consequences of valuing the opinion of people more than the praise of God. May we passionately, accurately, and wisely focus on - and prioritize - God’s will, word, and ways over any other situation that life presents to us… even if it means mockery, persecution, or the rejection of people.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the many hours traveled and the sacrifices made to quiz in this tournament. We are privileged to have you with us and want to make this tournament a great experience for you and your team. If you have any questions concerning the tournament, or if we have overlooked anything, please do not hesitate to let us know—we are happy to help. We are looking forward to a weekend of wholesome fellowship and great Bible Quizzing. We hope that your annual trek to Colorado will be well worth it!
