Format/Schedule:
- Essentially, this is a hybrid of the AACS and Spectacular style quizzes.
- The Friday quiz will cover John 1-4 and 14-21.
- The morning will consist of placement/preliminary quizzes. Teams will then be split into three categories based on results (high, mid, low divisions).
- Afternoon quizzes will be three "mini-tournaments" based on preliminary results with the winner of each category winning a team trophy.
- Ten individual medals will be given to exceptional quizzers as well.
- Teams will have a maximum of 4 quizzers on the pads at a time. Teams can have fewer or more members on the team roster, but only four can quiz at a time.
- There is no age limit or experience level for quizzers participating in the Friday tournament.
- Quizzers must stay on the same team throughout the Friday competition.
- Rosters can consist of members from the same ministry or different ministries.
- Each quiz will consist of twenty unique questions for three team quizzing.
- Initial Errors will result in a same question tossup
- No free questions will be asked if an error occurs on the tossup
- Each team starts with 40 points, but every error is -10.
- 20 points per correct answer; -10 points per error.
- Quiz outs = 4 answers per quizzer for quiz out (correct or incorrect, so be wary of errors).
- A team is quizzed out after 12 answers, regardless of number of quizzers on team.
- In the case of a tie after twenty questions, no tiebreaker question will be asked.
- Time limitations
- There is no 10-second requirement to begin the answer
- 30 seconds are given for the quizzer to complete the answer once he is recognized.
- Time-outs
- There are no time-outs given to the teams in these quizzes.
- The quizmaster will give the score after questions five, ten, fifteen, and nineteen.
- There are NO Challenges/Appeals in this event.
- Fouls: There are no fouls in this event. However, a team or single quizzer may be disqualified from the next question (light turned off) for:
- Displaying an improper attitude.
- Answering a question when the quizzer's light is not lit. If his teammate's light is on, the quizmaster will give an error to either the bad jumper or aggressive answerer.
- Talking while a regular question is being asked or while a quizzer is recognized.
- A coach or quizzer speaking out during quizzing or trying to influence the decision of the quizmaster.
