Welcome!
Dear Bible Quiz Friends,
Welcome to Denver and the 24th Annual Colorado Invitational Bible Quiz Tournament! We are thrilled that you could join us for this event. We anticipate a great weekend of intense competition and loving fellowship that is centered on the precious Word of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.
I love the opportunity to be a part of CI 2020 because - aside from the competition - this event presents a great opportunity for healthy Christian fellowship with other teens, coaches, parents, and supporters who love God and His Word. We believe that this tournament will be a challenge and encouragement for all teams that are attending.
The theme for CI 2020 is “Approving Things that are Excellent.” This theme is taken from Philippians 1:10 which says, “That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ…” This verse is part of a larger context which explains how important it is for Christians to show sincere confidence and loving fellowship that is centered around Jesus Christ. Verses ten and eleven show that it is important to have wise discernment and fruitful righteousness connected to our Christ-like fellowship and love. In a day when contention and fighting are common in our society, may we stand out by showing joyful fellowship, sincere confidence, Christ-like love, wise discernment, and fruitful righteousness in our everyday lives. On a day like today (Valentine’s Day) may we follow the command of Jesus in John 13:34,35. He exhorts us, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” May we passionately, accurately, and wisely demonstrate this Christ-like love in our actions, reactions, and interactions.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the many hours traveled and sacrifices made to quiz this weekend. We are privileged to have you with us and want to make this tournament a great experience for you and your team. If you have any questions concerning the tournament, or if we have overlooked anything, please do not hesitate to let us know—we are happy to help. We are looking forward to a weekend of wholesome fellowship and great Bible Quizzing. We hope that your annual trek to Colorado will be well worth it!

Pastor Jono Scott
