Bible quizzing is an activity which can offer incentive to young people to
memorize large portions of the Word of God and internalize it.
We narrow our definition to include rules and other guidelines established
by the American Association of Christian Schools.
In our local church, Woodside Baptist of Denver, CO, we have several
commitment levels for our quizzers from occasional Sunday night quizzers
to the fully committed competition team.
For weekly quizzes, a portion of a chapter is assigned, and the young
people memorize and answer questions from that portion. We meet for youth
rallies with several other churches monthly, at which we quiz over the
chapter or two for that month.
Our competition team carries further the commitment to memorize and
internalize by reviewing the book(s) for the entire year of AACS
competition. These students in our co-op Christian school meet weekly for
two hours of practice in recall, answering questions on their entire
passage.
